The Gossip Corner with Stine

It's Monday and I'm posting-yay!!! I promised I wouldn't let you guys down! Now let's get into some Hot Topics:

Snooki Gives Birth!
Well Snooki is officially a mommy, she gave birth to son Lorenzo Dominic this past weekend in an NJ Hospital. Both mom and baby are doing just fine and bff Jenni (aka JWoww) says that little Enzo is the cutest little boy ever! I bet his wardrobe is already packed full of blinged out tees, trucker hats, jewelry, and tanning spray lol. I'm sure we'll be seeing pics of the little Italian family popping up on the cover of Us Weekly, In Touch, or Life & Style soon.

Funnygirl Anna Faris and hubby Chris Pratt are parents!
Anna gave birth to the couple's first child named, Jack also over the weekend. Who knows maybe he and Enzo can fist-pump at the Jersey shore sometime! Bahaha. I wouldn't be expecting any magazine cover shoots for this new family because unlike Snooki and fiance Jionni, Anna and Chris are very low-key.

"One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind"
Unfortunately we lost legendary astronaut Neil Armstrong at the age of 82 this weekend from complications from a cardiovascular procedure. He made great strides in history and will forever be remembered as the first man on the moon.

Prince Harry did what?!
The world saw a little more of England's third in line than expected when photos of the naked prince were leaked after a night of partying in Las Vegas. The press in the UK were asked by the palace to not publish the scandalous photos of the prince clutching his umm-crown jewels so to speak lol. It has been reported that his brother, William is very disappointed with him and that it can only get once he has to face their grandmother, you know the Queen of England!

Birthday Aftermath

Good Morning Bloggers! As I told you last week in my post, Saturday was my birthday! I ended up having to work most of the day, but that was not going to stop me from going out and celebrating with my boyfriend and friends.

When we were finally all ready to go (I mean I did have a few presents from my fam to open before we could go!), Ben and I went to dinner at Sunset Bar and Grill in Brighton, MA. I've always loved going to Sunset...it's such a low key chill place, but can have a more rowdy side depending on when you go. Ben and I went for dinner and drinks so it wasn't too wild just yet. My favorite plate (and I'm pretty sure I've gotten this every time I've got food there) is def the nachos. You can get them loaded with all sorts of nacho-y things, but then you could add things such as pulled pork! Ben and I split a plate and def got the pulled pork on it. It was fantastic! The worst part was we couldn't finish it, and because we weren't going straight home, we couldn't take it with us. :(

We were able to quickly move on from the food loss because we then went over to Tavern in the Square to meet up with the girls and some new faces. Km, Jen and Vicki were able to meet up with us along with a bunch of Km's friends, Alyssa and my bestie from high school Kristen. By the time Ben and I got there, the bar was making it's transition from restaurant to club, and people on continued to come in. Could a girl ask for anything else on her birthday? (Ok, Christine SHOULD have been there too, but unfortunately she doesn't live that close to us anymore :(  someday we all will be reunited again!)

The Gossip Corner with Stine

I know I'm late again guys I'm SOOOO sorry! I have a good reason I promise, I was stuck in traffic coming home from New York. I won't make a habit of this-swear!

So since I was in NYC this weekend, I want to share with you some cool things that I didn't know about before going there! Now my mom and I didn't actually stay in NYC but instead opted to bunk at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Jersey City which is literally right across from the World Trade Center. Our view from the 6th floor was amazing, we fell asleep to the twinkling lights of the Empire State Building.

The new World Trade Center is huge and very shiny. Unfortunately, we didn't get tickets to go into the 9/11 Memorial but you could see that it is a really big area. I really want to go back and see it sometime.

Jersey City is really nice and cute for those who haven't been, and if you're considering a move to the big city but maybe can't afford the high prices, Jersey City and Hoboken are really great alternatives! You can take the PATH train from a lot of places in northern New Jersey and it will get you into NYC in no more than 30-40 minutes. Our train ride was only 4 minutes because our hotel was right next to the PATH station.

Since Fashion Week and Fashion's Night Out (FNO) is just around the corner, I'm trying to get some of the girls from grad school to go up on Thursday for FNO after our class and make a night out of it! Maybe we'll even stay in Jersey City!

What are some of your favorite things to do in NYC or Jersey City? Let me know!

Happy Early Birthday to Me :)

For those of you who are unaware my 24th birthday is tomorrow! I'm excited that it's finally on a weekend and I'm totally ready to go out and celebrate! While I know I'll change my outfit a thousand times before making a final decision here is one of my options:

Well even if I don't go with this outfit at least I look cool hanging out in Stanley Park in Westfield, MA. :)
*All pictures are my own

What do you think of this outfit?

London Is Calling

googleimages.com
Hello followers!!! It's been far too long since I've posted and told you all about what's trending at the moment. As we all know the 2012 Summer Olympics in London just ended this past Sunday. I will admit it was the first year I really got into the Olympics. A few of my favorite sports to watch were: swimming, volleyball, diving, and women's gymnastics. I made sure that whenever the USA women's gymnastics were competing I was glued to the television.

Not only do I enjoy  watching gymnastics, but I also was rooting for local hometown Olympian from Needham, MA, Aly Raisman. Congratulations Aly for winning the gold medal in floor exercise.

And a big congratulations to the US women's gymnastics team "The Fab Five" for their first Olympic title since 1996!

I think the reason why this year I was so interested in the Olympics is because it took place in London. During my junior year in college I studied abroad in London, England with Stine and Kaley. Over the past few weeks the media covered so much of London that I miss dearly. And when the Closing Ceremony on Sunday night showed famous style icons like Kate Moss, and Naomi Campbell it reminded me of all the fashion trends I saw during the fall of 2009 in the beautiful city of London.

After playing around with Polyvore for awhile I decided to create a layout of what you probably would find me wearing if I was abroad in London again this fall...

The Gossip Corner with Stine

OMG I am so sorry for this day late post you guys!!! Things have been super crazy for me, I'm in grad school right now which is taking up a lot of my time. The good thing is I remembered! So on to our topics-finishing up the 2012 London Olympics!

The 30th Olympiad was all about Team USA, once again! We took home 104 medals, 46 of them were GOLD and get this, more medals were won by women at these games! Girl Power!! The men didn't do too shabby either but it's just nice to know that we can still do anything they can do (and sometimes better). History was made at these games, with repeat/three-peat victories, new world records, at of course the G.O.A.T (aka Greatest Olympian of All Time-Michael Phelps).

For the first time in Olympic beach volleyball there was an All-American Gold medal match with veterans and 2-time gold medalists Misty May-Treanor & Kerri Walsh-Jennings pitted against their teammates Jen Kessy & April Ross. Misty and Kerri didn't disapoint, taking home their 3rd gold medal! It was bitter sweet because this is (probably) the last time these two will compete in an Olympics together as Misty is retiring, but Kerri is determined to make it to Rio in 2016.

Both Men's and Women's basketball teams won gold and thus keeping their Olympic winning streak alive, although it was a very close game for the Men who played a tough Spanish team with a final score of 107-100. The Women cruised pass France to win their 5th straight gold.

The USA Women's soccer team played a great game against Japan and kept their winning score of 2-1 alive for the 4th time. They have won a medal in all 5 Olympics since the sport was introduced, 4 out of 5 are gold. Carli Llyod came off the bench to score the only 2 goals for Team USA.

Moving on to the Closing Ceremony, one word-AMAZING!!!! I love how they decided to celebrate the great things to come out of the UK: music and fashion! Everyone from Jessie J, Taio Cruz, The Who, Russell Brand, One Direction, Annie Lenox, and Madness performed. There was also a really nice tribute to John Lennon with children doing sign language to his song "Imagine". And then there were the SPICE GIRLS!!!! Vicki and I were frantically texting back and forth during their performace because it brought back memories from out childhood. They were awesome and looked and sounded HOT! Super models, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell made an appearance along with some of London's other top models who strutted their stuff.

Closing Ceremony Performances (Google)

Finally I wanted to share Team USA's outfits for the Closing Ceremony since they were different from Opening Ceremony. What do you all think?

I am so sad to see these games come to an end but I can't wait for the winter games in Sochi, Russia (although I do not plan on attending-too cold) and I'm already pumped for Rio in 2016!!! What were your favorite parts of the London Olympics?
