Milan Fashion Week September 19-September 24

While I may be slightly disappointed in the designers who showed in Milan for choosing such sickly thin girls, I really enjoyed what I saw coming off the runways. As usual I had a difficult time choosing my top three favs. So naturally I have a list letting you know which other lines to check out. So let’s get started!

Blugirl
This new line has everything from nice night gowns layered over the ones you don’t want mom to see, flower child dresses and beautiful white summer dresses all to make me wish summer wasn’t ending already. Is it too soon to ask if it’s spring yet?

*I really couldn't choose a top three, so you get four! Surprise!

John Richmond
You sly dog, you John Richmond. Making my top 3 for the second season in a row, all I can say is I want more! While most of the looks were simple (my fav!) and mostly black or white, there were also pops of color and funky textures that I’m really not even sure how to describe. I think pictures do better than I do…here are my favs:

Missoni
I’m not really sure how I feel about the shapes of the garments, but I’m totally obsessed with the colors. It looks like Angela has really stuck to her parent’s trademark of creating adorbs knitwear. Great job Angela!

In case you want more from Milan,  here are other lines you should def check out:
Ermanno Scervino
DSquared2
Les Copains
Moschino
Versace

The Gossip Corner with Stine

What's Trending Now...

Sarah Michelle Gellar and hubby Freddie Prinze Jr. welcomed a baby boy last weekend,  his name has not yet been released. Their little boy joins big sister Charlotte. Congrats!

Surprise three-time Olympian Kerri Walsh-Jennings reveals that she and her hubby Casey Jennings are expecting their third child!! And she found out while she was competing in the London games this past August, she was 5 weeks along then. Now each of her kids will have one of her gold medals to play with, unless she gets a fourth in Rio 2016 which means that they’ll have to try for a fourth baby right?!

Sofia Vergara had a bit of wardrobe malfunction just before going on stage with her Modern Family cast to accept their award for Outstanding Comedy. The backside of her dress completely split in half!! Good thing she had a team of stylists backstage to sew her back up. She did look gorgeous in her Zuhair Murad teal gown with its sexy cut-outs.

This is a perfect transition into the Emmys! I’m not gonna get into the drama of who won or lost, but I will say that Modern Family and Homeland definitely did some dominating in their categories with Eric Stonestreet and Julie Bowen taking Supporting Actor/Actress in a Comedy, respectively and as I said before Modern Family won for Outstanding Comedy Series. Damian Lewis and Claire Danes won for Lead Actor/Actress in a Drama for Homeland, respectively.

Now on to the fashion, here are my top Best Dressed:
Sofia Vergara in Zuhair Murad

Julie Bowen in Monique Lhuillier

Kerry Washington in Vivienne Westwood

Giuliana Rancic in Rafael Cennamo

London Fashion Week September 14-September 18

I would have to say that my favorite part about all of the fashion weeks outside of the US is that they are out of the US. Please don’t take this as an anti-American statement. (Mostly) European fashion is so different from what we have here and that is certainly reflected on the catwalks of the world. Europeans are not afraid to design or wear things that would make you an outcast if you wore it in the States (Like Men in Dresses?).

European designs aren’t even always necessarily doing things that are crazy. Sometimes they’re doing close to the same thing that American designers are doing, but with a little European flare. I guess I don’t really know how to put it into words…maybe it’s just a feeling I have towards all things European. Here are my top lines from London’s Spring/Summer 2013:

Philip Treacy
I don’t know too much about this designer, but after looking at his creations I’m going to start paying attention more! I just don't think he'll ever fade into the crowd. I realized quickly that the focus of this collection is definitely the headgear. Now I’m not talking about the kind the orthodontist gave you when you were 12, permanently ruining all pre-teen and early teen photos for you. I’m talking about the kind we watched guests of the royal wedding walking into the church wearing. If you don’t feel comfortable wearing these pieces of art to the food store, you could certainly use it as a center piece for Thanksgiving dinner. I had such a hard time choosing my favs for this one, but here it goes:

This would def be the easiest to go food shopping in!
I'm not 100% sure if this will work, but I hope it does so you can see the rest of this wonderfully wacky line! Philip Treacy S/S 2013

Emilia Wickstead
To me, she really pulled inspiration from a few different decades. Super feminine 50’s dress, laid back 70’s get-up, and the peplum of today. Here are my favs:

David Koma
Fitted mini dresses, and mini mermaid style dresses, cropped tops elongated with sheer pieces. Everything is so simple, yet so beautiful. Most of the dresses looked like they had some serious pleats, which just reminded me of the great Madam Gres from Paris, whose specialty was pleats. Most of the outfits were either black or white with little pops of colors. Here are my favs:

Wacky Wednesday With Vicki Live

Giddy Up!

Happy Hump Day followers! I can't believe another month has flown by and September is here! I don't know about you, but this time of year I find always to be bitter sweet. Goodbye to the amazing hot summer weather, and hello to the cool weather! And if you know me you would know even though I've lived in New England for 23 years, I wish I lived somewhere warm 12 months out of the year.

Me playing with some of the
 fun exercise machines last year

But September does bring a few pluses! I think my favorite part about September is the Big E in West Springfield MA. The Big E which is known as the Eastern States Exposition, is a state fair for all six of the New England States. At the Big E you'll find zoo & farm animals,  vendors for shopping, rides and attractions, bars for nightlife, and tons and tons of FOOD! Some of the best food in New England you will ever have! A few of my faves would include:
Vermont's Apple Pie,  the Maine Baked Potatoes, and the Rhode Island's Clam Fritters.

Where I always get my apple cider & apple pie :)
Every year the Big E also features concerts that are available to the public. I've never actually been to a concert at the Big E, but this year a few famous people the Big E is featuring includes: Alan Jackson, Billy Currington, and Rodney Atkins. Of course all three amazing country artists! I'm shocked I wasn't one of the first people in line to buy tickets.

But, getting away from the Big E, but staying on topic with country concerts, I actually went to Toby Keith's Bar & Grill last week in Foxboro, MA with Jen Boo to see the country duo Thompson Square!

This husband and wife country duo, Keifer Thompson and Shawna Thompson met at a singing competition in Nashville and from there it was love at first sight. They both pursued solo careers as country artists in the start of their careers, and eventually became a duo creating the band Thompson Square. Thompson Square combines a mix of pop, country, and classic rock into their mix (CMT.com).  And after 13 wonderful years of marriage, you can imagine this duo had more than enough material to write, and compose some catchy songs for their fans!

They're soooo cute!!!

Me & Jen at Toby's!

Besides the hit song "Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not" from Thompson Square another one of my faves would have to be "Let's Fight". Check out this video of "Let's Fight" from Youtube.com

Oh & how could I forget....We Met The Band!!!

They are a BEAUTIFUL couple in person!!
Happy Hump Day & Enjoy the beginning of fall followers!

The Gossip Corner with Stine

Monday Madness!

Hello everyone!!! Hope your weekend was fabulous, mine was kinda boring filled with homework, working, and getting ready for my busy week of classes and my internship in The Big Apple :) Yes I do mean NYC, I can't really say much except that it's in fashion and it's a luxury brand, hopefully I can give you more details at some point!

Anywho, moving on to more important things like what in the world is going on in H-wood these days?! Now I know we chatted about Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds surprise wedding last week, but I just have to share this pic of the newlyweds and Blake's GIMONGO ring!

So in love! I would be too with that ring! LOL (Google Images)

Unfortunately not everyone is as in love as these two, comedian faves, Will Arnett and Amy Poehler are splitting up afte 14 years together!! So sad :( I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they reconcile because they are hilarious!

All good things must come to end, I guess? (Google)

Poor Kate-I mean the Duchess of Cambridge-can't even relax on holiday without some creeper taking photos of her while she was sunbathing. Maybe it had to do with the fact that she was TOPLESS, just a thought lol. Oh those Europeans and their comfort level with nudity, all I know is that you will NEVER catch me in my birthday suit out in public. I just feel bad because it's almost the anniversary of Will's mom the late Princess Diana's death that was caused by these same crazed paparazzi. Message to all you paps out there LEAVE THE DUCHESS ALONE!!

Top: the Duke & Duchess vacationing on a yacht somewhere fabulous (with Kate wearing a bikini top). Middle: on their trip representing the Queen for her Diamond Jubilee. Bottom: doesn't she look just like Diana?! (Google)

Shaun White looks like he's gotten himself in some hot water with Nashville authorities, Us Weekly.com is reporting that the 2-time golden Olympian was arrested for public intoxication and vandalism. He injured his head just before being taken into custody and made a pit-stop at the emergency room before his final destination of a jail cell. Send some protesters out there with "FREE THE FLYIN' TOMATO" signs, we still love ya Shaun!

I'm sending my congrats to new parents Bill and Giuliana Rancic on their new bundle of joy, Edward Duke, who arrived via gestational surrogate earlier this month!! Check out their Life&Style cover here:

So freakin' cute!! (Google)
