Thirsty Thursday's With Vicki

Buon Appetit

So I have admit, when it comes to Italian food I feel like I could eat and eat and never gain a pound especially when it involves a tasty slice of pizza, and a glass of Pinot! Last Sunday, when my friends and I went to NYC for the day, we all met up and went to Nizza, an Italian Restaurant located on 630 9th Avenue. And let me tell you, it had to of been one of the best Italian Restaurants I’ve ever been to! Of course, the day I actually make it to Italy, I’m sure I’ll change my mind, but I’ll say this is one of my favorite Italian Restaurants I’ve been to thus far.

Since, I didn’t quite make it to the Alexander McQueen Exhibit with the other girls, due to the obnoxiously long line; I met up with my long lost friend Kate, who currently lives in the city working in the fashion industry. Lucky girl, I know. All of us girls met up, earlier that night at Nizza. It was such a cute little place, which had both inside and outside seating. Of course being dinner time though, inside was a pretty long wait to get seats so we decided to eat outside instead. It was an absolutely gorgeous night to be sitting outside, but unfortunately it was just a little too hot & sticky. The location is great though, being just a block away from the bus station, and surrounded by many other restaurants and shops. Also, my night was complete when I found out Justin Timberlake’s restaurant, Hell’s Kitchen, sat diagonal from Nizza. Guess that restaurant will be next on my list to check out!

For dinner, I ordered a Margherita Pizza, to myself. Yes, I told you love Italian. But this was the perfect size for me! It came with six slices, and was such a great price. Less than $12 and completely hit the spot! If it wasn’t for the humidity, I definitely would have ordered a glass of Pinot, since I’m sure their wines are excellent but I opted to stick to the water instead.

According to the Weather Channel, they told us ALL week it was supposed to be raining and thunder storming all day. So to dress for the weather, I wore a pair of ripped jeans and a cropped Bohemian top, and brought my light weight corduroy jacket just in case, as well as an umbrella of course. Well apparently, Weather Channel loves to lie. And lucky for us, it was an absolutely gorgeous day but hotter than hell. Luckily, Forever 21 was only a “few” blocks away from the MET, so with a small budget in mind I bought a completely new outfit for the day.
I bought this adorable short blue floral print romper that was perfect for the humidity. For accessories, I bought a cute pair of blue and silver dangling earrings and wore my brown beaded bracelet. For shoes, I wore a pair of teal Steve Madden zippered flats. Unfortunately, even though the shoes are adorable, the zippers gave me some really bad blisters. I guess I know for my next trip to NYC, to never believe Weather Channel and to wear more comfortable shoes! Overall though, New York City was a success, and can’t wait till I get the chance to go back!
