The 2011 Emmy Awards were filled with excitement, laughter, and dash of awkwardness (in my opinion). I really enjoyed Jane Lynch's opening sequence where she jumps from various TV show sets all while singing a quirky tune. The only that I would've changed would be her outfit that she wore on stage, I think she would look better in a really nice tailored suit with a low-cut top and sky high pumps. In case you missed it this is what she wore:

Jane also gave the crowd a lot of laughs during the show, I thought it was super funny when she introduced the cast of entourage saying, "A lot of people are very curious why I'm a lesbian. Ladies and gentlemen the cast of Entourage!" I was pleasantly surprised that the network let her use that joke because most of the time hosts are asked to keep their jokes on lighter topics.
Moving on to the awkward Charlie Sheen-Ashton Kutcher moment backstage. Never in a million years did I think any credible award show would allow a person like Sheen, after the tumultuous year he's had to be a presenter! You can't be 100% sure of what is going to come out of his mouth, but thankfully he kept it PG and wished his former show well and even gave Kutcher some pointers backstage. Is it just me or does Ashton look a wee-bit uncomfortable in this pic:

You be the judge...
My all-time-hands-down favorite moment of the night was the performance by The Lonely Island. I mean who can get Michael Bolton to dress like Jack Sparrow, John Stamos and Ed Helms to wear fake mustaches and sing about three-ways with an 80's clad Maya Rudolph? Only Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone! If you missed their performance click on the link below and prepare for some laughs:

Moving on to the winners (and losers) of the night: Modern Family was the big winner for the evening with three and two of those statues went to the supporting actor and actress in a comedy (Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen). Julianna Margulies walked away with the lead actress in a drama (The Good Wife) and in a surprise upset, Kyle Chandler beat out the likes of Jon Hamm and Hugh Laurie for lead actor in a drama.
Finally I would like to wrap-up this post with a Top 5 best and worst dressed list:
Worst
5. Julianne Hough- I'm just not loving this silhouette on her and I think that her hair should've been down in loose wavy curls

4. Minka Kelly- She needs to lose the lace sleeves and then this dress would be a grand slam
(Photo Credit: Google Images)3. Cory Monteith- A simple black tie would've been a better decision
2. Dianna Agron- She just looks so matronly and the gown does nothing for her figure
1. Christina Hendricks- Too much boob, too much leg, and not enough color (on the dress)

Best
5. Lea Michele- Love the color, cut, and surprise low back for a hint of sexiness
4. Sofia Vergara- The asymmetrical top is perfect for her curves, loving it!

3. Gwyneth Paltrow- I like that she took a risk with a mid-drift baring gown

2. Heidi Klum- Super fun and flirty

1. Nina Dobrev- Ah-mazing! Everything about this dress is spot on
