Hello fellow gossipers!
I hope everyone has had a good week so far and maybe even have some fun plans for the weekend. As promised I am going to share with you my tips for bathroom renovations. Today I'm going to show you the before pictures because my bathroom isn't completely finished.
Our vision for this space has changed several times because there were many options to consider. Option 1: Do we keep the existing tub and tile and just replace the toilet and sink? Option 2: Or put in new tile but keep everything else the same? Option 3: Or do we just rip everything out and start from scratch? Well folks after many a debate we decided to go with option #3 and we are very pleased with our decision!
Here's a few shots of what my bathroom USED to look like:
Now you can see why we needed to update in the first place, Salmon pink tile is so NOT 2012.
Let me give you a play-by-play of what we needed to do:
-Rip out all the wall tile
-Replace sink
-Replace tub
-Remove medicine cabinet and replace with regular mirror
-Move light fixture and replace with new one
-Paint
-Re tile tub/shower area and floor
Decided what would be done turned out to be the easy part because trying to agree on the color scheme, type/style of tile, and tub was next to impossible! In each of the rooms that we've re-done we have tried to incorporate something that was made in America-that was the first hurdle, but eventually we found an American Standard tub that was made in Tennessee! I got to pick out the sink, faucet, tub accessories, lighting, and paint color while my mom and aunt picked out the tile and the mirror. We were able to get everything locally from: Lowes, Home Depot, GSI Supply, and Coventry Tile & Design. We found our contractor through my uncle and he is THE best! To see the finished product check back next week!
