Thirsty Thursday's With Vicki

I Love Country Boys

Springfield's Country, Kix 100.9, is my absolute favorite radio station to listen to in Western MA. I love Mike Tyler, and Kera Burke, when I'm driving to work in the morning. Every few months the station hosts free (or close to free) country concerts at local venues in Western MA. Now when I hear Free, and Country, you know you can automatically count me in!!! These events are usually for new, and upcoming artists that are just starting to get their names out there.

Back in the summer, I went to a country event hosted by Kix 100.9 in Northampton, MA. It was a Tornado Relief concert that was over 3 hours long! The concert took place on Pearl Street in Noho, cost less than $15 to get in, and all the profits went to the Tornado Relief. Artists for this concert included: Eli Young Band, David Nail, and Hunter Hayes.

If you're a country fan like me, you'd recognized David Nail's song "Let It Rain" which is one of my fave country songs of the moment, and then Eli Young Band's song "Crazy Girl." Eli Young Band will actually be one of the opening acts for Rascal Flatt's Tour that's coming up this summer.

This past Tuesday, I attended another free country event hosted by Kix 100.9 at the Hukelau in Chicopee, MA. This event had only two acts: Love & Theft with Cannon Smith. This event was only about an hour and a half, but it also included a free meet and greet at the end (obvi our fave part!!!). I'll admit I have never heard of either of these artists, but after this show I'll be sure to start listening to them more often. Not only were they very talented, but man were they good looking country men!!! During the meet, and greet we had a chance to take pictures, get autographs, and chat it up with these cuties! Throughout the night my friend's and I filled up on some greasy Chinese food, scorpion bowls, and country music! Three of my guilty pleasures :)

Meet & Greet with Cannon Smith, and Love & Theft. I loved this guy in the hat!!! You can see us both cheering our glasses in the photo!

All of us with Cannon Smith & Love & Theft
If the Eli Young Band is opening for big time country artists like Rascal Flatts, I can't wait to see where these guys end up in the near future!!!

Happy Thirsty Thursday!!!
