Fridays with Jenbiff

New York Fashion Week

For the record, this post was SUPPOSED to post yesterday at 10 am. Clearly that didn't happen, so I'm sorry for the late post! Anywhosers...

Ahh fall. The time for bundling up, pumpkin picking, and hot apple cider. My entire childhood I dreaded this season more than I dreaded going to church. But as I get older I realize there are so many fun things to look forward to in the next couple of months. Since I am no longer in school, fall is now officially kicked off with Fashion Night Out. What a great start right?? Then, wasting no time, we quickly jump into NYFW (although if you look at actual dates, fashion week technically comes first…minor detail). Of course there are other equally as fun things to look forward to like apple and pumpkin picking, hay rides, and all the holidays to come (which to be honest I’m just super excited to decorate for!) For the time being, all of those things are going to have to wait until all the fashion weeks of the world are over (--sorry hunny, the Zac Posen pictures were just posted, we can go apple picking tomorrow…after The Row).

So let’s get started in New York. This year the world famous fashion week ran from September 4th to the 13th. I spent most of Sunday catching up on what had already happened, and as I looked ahead to what is still to come, I knew I was going to have an extremely hard time choosing which were my favorite lines for Spring/Summer 2013. So instead of top 3, I chose my top 5, with a mile long list of honorable mentions. Enjoy J

Oscar de la Renta
Oh Oscar. As if I needed another reason to love you. This line literally everything that I love about fashion. Everything is soooo beautiful. In all seriousness you should check the whole line out for your self, but (after much struggle) here are my top three looks:

 DVF
With 70s inspired silhouettes, flowing dresses and wacky new eye wear; this line should not be missed. The color combos (while nothing new or shocking) are absolutely beautiful. Here are my top three:

Ps those funny eye wear that they’re wearing is the newest gadget from Google. Apparently you can record videos, take pictures and respond to texts. I really have no idea how it works, but even I geeked out a little when I found out what they do.

Carmen Marc Valvo
Again with the amazing flowing and feminine silhouettes! But really; they’re to die for. If I had a reason to own one…nope, def don’t need a reason. GET IN MY CLOSET BEAUTIES!!! Here are my top three:

Pamella Roland
This collection screams simplicity with a touch of glamour. My fav. While the line itself is mostly black and white, it’s so beautiful that I can already see my fav celebs promenading down the red carpet in them. Now, if I were a celebrity stylist, which would I choose…

 Lela Rose
Practical and simple dresses. Lace and sheer pieces. I think I’m in love all over again. after first learning about this new designer at fashion week in February, I’ve yet to be disappointed (yes I’m aware that’s this is only the second season, but I don’t see it stopping anytime soon!). Here are my top looks:

New York certainly did not disappoint this season. I'm def glad to see that peplum, lace, sheer, and feminine silhouettes are rolling over to the next season because I'm not ready to let them go yet! I really hope the  Mayan Apocalypse is all a hoax because I'm excited for what's to come!

More lines worth your time:
