KM Explains It All!

Vegas!!!

A few weeks ago I FINALLY got to go on my vacation that was ohh so desperately needed.  It was my first time in Vegas and it did not disappoint!  JBou, my friend Kristin and I stayed at the Monte Carlo right on the strip.  We picked this hotel based on it's pools, since we knew it was going to be so hot out.  I really appreciated having a pool to cool off in after walking up and down the strip.  They had a lazy river which we started a dance party and splash war in...good times obviously!  Although I loved this hotel I must say that it was one of the older ones on the strip.  When we went into others we noticed how nice and new everything looked.  After going in pretty much every casino I would announce that this is where we'd be staying the next time we came...they were all wicked nice!!!
Our hotel
We weren't sure exactly what to expect so we left our schedules open for anything!  Unfortunately this meant no shows but next time I want to see the Cirque-Du-Soleil Love show...it's the Beatles need I say more?  We got there on a Tuesday night and left Saturday morning.  I would have liked having one more day in Vegas, my liver was done with the nightlife, but I didn't get to all of the casinos and I also really wanted to see the Titanic exhibit at the Luxor.
With the Blue Meanie at the Beatles store at the Mirage...I could have
spent my life savings in that store
When it came to nightlife we weren't really sure what to expect.  Our first night out was spent at a lounge right in our hotel called Brand.  I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place to anyone unless you want a laid back environment.  They got our attention by saying it was ladies night and there would be no cover for us as well as free drinks.  Once we got there we were informed that if we wanted to partake in ladies night we had to pay twenty dollars for a pink solo cup and could only get drinks off of a very short list.
All of us out on our first night!
The next night we went to a country bar off the strip called Stoney's.  It was a little over a twenty dollar cab ride but none of us had been to a country bar before and we wanted to meet up with some more of our friends out there.  Once again it was ladies night but here mixed drinks were one dollar a piece.  You really can't beat that!  It was a really cool environment that had a mechanical bull, Beirut tables, pool tables, and a large dance floor.  The only negative I have about this place was that every song they played had a line dance to it.  That's common at country bars, which I didn't know, so next time I'll want to be more prepared.  It's also a very casual place and I felt quite overdressed in a dress.  Cut-off shorts and a cute top would have been much more appropriate.
Outside of The Bank night club
On our final night we went to a really fun club in the Bellagio called Bank.  We got in for free thanks to some friends we made there which was great especially after we found out our cran-vodka's were fourteen dollars...pregamming is a must here and the great thing it you can get bottles of alcohol at places like CVS and walk around holding these beverages.  The club had some fun surprises including a Michael Jackson impersonater, bubbles, and confetti!  I loved this place!
Normally I'm not a huge fan of MJ but this was really cool!
I cannot wait to go back and see all the things that I missed and walk around with more delicious slushy drinks!

Been on any good trips lately?  Let me know!!!
