Paris Fashion Week
*Don't worry readers! The Oldies but Goodies will be posted next Friday*
September 25- October 3
I don’t care what you think you know about Fashion Week, or
that you’ve heard from Sally’s cousin that New York Fashion Week is the biggest, and
most important. There is NOTHING like Paris Fashion Week. I always look forward
to what will come from such a glorious week. That being said I couldn't choose the typical top three, so again I choose my top 5. So let’s waste anymore time!
Ahh, Dior. Classic and beautifully created suits, nothing
too out of the ordinary until I saw the metallic-y creations and I was floored.
The garments literally looked like they were electric. Here’s what I mean:
Leonard
The cuts and silhouttes of all the garments to come out on
the runway were flawless. The tropical prints made it feel like resort wear
more than RTW, but the colors bring it all together.
Yves Saint Laurent
The leather pants, giant bows, floppy hats all equal amazing
creations. I am just in awe of how beautifully created this line was. I know
that’s probably starting to sound a little redundant at this point, but
seriously…look at these:
Chanel
Large portions, large pearls around the neck, wrist and on
the garments covered the Chanel runway this past week. And then there was the
bag that rocked the fashion air waves. Check it out:
The bag made from hula hoops (*not really, that's just my opinion) |
Alexander McQueen
So I totally spoiled the description and accidently read
WWD’s description of Sarah Burton’s latest creations for Alexander McQueen.
After looking at the collection a few times I was able to see more than just
what WWD said and of course I loved it. Inspired by bees, but made in a way
that (if I had the money) I would be waiting eagerly for my order of everything
off the runway. Here are my favs:
Sadly this was the end of the big fashion weeks, but if you're looking for a little more here are a few more lines that you should def check out! Enjoy!
