Making A Space Your Own
This week, I decided to stray away from my usual posts about going out, and get on this “Do It Yourself” bandwagon (props to KM & Jen Biff). Ever since, I officially moved back home last May from college, I’ve been trying to make my bedroom feel more like my own space. Lucky for me, when I was in high school, my family allowed me to move my bedroom down into our finished off basement. It used to be our family room where my brother, and I would hang out with our friends, but once we finished off our loft above the garage, that became our new family room. Unfortunately, the loft has turned into my dad’s office, so now there’s no family room at all...hence why I'm always out!

One way that I've tried making my room look like my own space is by adding picture frames and scrapbooking frames. Ever since I got into my senior year in high school, I really enjoyed getting into scrapbooking. I had scrapbooked a few different events in my life including: my senior year in high school, a relationship I had with an ex boyfriend, as well as my study abroad trip during my junior year (that scrapbook is STILL in progress).

Scrapbooking takes a very long time! And I may not be the best at it, but overtime I've picked up a few tricks here and there. Soon, I realized that I wanted a way that I could put my scrapbook pages up for people to actually see. Then I started finding Scrapbooking frames at Michaels & A.C. Moore. By using the coupons I find on each of the retailer’s websites, I've started picking up frames for less than $5! With their coupons too I always pick up cute scrapbooking pages, stickers, and frame cut-outs just like the one's I've used in these pages below:

My 21'st Birthday!!! You can tell the glitter on the page doesn't
really hold onto the letters so well! But I just love this scrapbook page! |

I've also tried decorating my walls by adding cute picture frames with some of my friends:

Ever since my Fashion History class in college, I have had this growing love for old time actress and fashion icon, Audrey Hepburn. As soon as I finally watched Breakfast with Tiffany’s, Sabrina, and Roman Holiday I was hooked! My brother also gave me a book about all the movies she was in during her career, called Audrey Hepburn In The Movies by Timothy Knight. I've only read part of the book so far, but it's very interesting to get an inside scoop on each of the movies. And here’s a little secret...when I bought my new car this past May, she was so beautiful in my eyes, I had to call her Audrey. My last car’s name was Madonna because she was gold. I'll have to think of another favorite fashion icon to name my next car after! Here's some posters I've hung up in my room of Miss Audrey:

Since, I clearly do enjoy fashion, I picked up this Couture poster at Michaels last week:

Michael's has so many more of these Couture posters. I can't wait to collect all of them! I think these will make great posters for my apartment some day.
Here's a few other fun things I've added to my room:

If you couldn't tell by my bedroom I LOVE GIRAFFES!!! |
For my next project, I'm thinking of putting together a fashion collage poster by using fashion magazines, a plain scrapbooking page, and a frame. Easy, fun, and affordable! I'll be sure to post it when it's done!
Have a Happy Thirsty Thursday Followers! :)
