Ever since I was little I've come to New York City many times. My dad really loves visiting so we would come down for a weekend and do all the tourist-y things: The Statue of Liberty, The Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, a show with the Rockettes, a show on Broadway, Time Square, etc. When I went to college, our school actually had a bus trip down to the city for a day...so the girls and I took advantage and went every year.I really do love going to the city because I really love cities, and New York is certainly big enough. Not only that, but there is so much to do! And even though I've been the the Empire State Building a few times, the view from the top is still amazing.

The most recent trips I've made have felt really productive because I actually did things that I always said I was going to do. Christine and I went this past fall and we finally walked by People's Revolution, Kelly Cutrone's Public Relations company! So I decided since I had the opportunity to be down here for a whole week, why not take advantage and see more things that I've wanted to see, but either ran out of time or energy.

At the end of this past summer a little pastry shop from Paris, France, called Laduree, opened a shop in the city. You may be asking yourself, 'What's the big deal? It's New York City! Things open and close all the time!' Well dear friends, this little pastry shop just happens to be one of the pastry shops I went to when I was in Paris. This may also not seem like a big deal to you, but trust me...if you've had any of their sweet treats you would understand because they are so delish! What sort of sweet treats do they have, you ask. They do have little chocolates and cookies, but to be honest I'm not really sure what else because I've only had what they're known for: macarons.

These cute little treats come in a variety of flavors such as: rose, chocolate, vanilla, pistachio, lemon, coffee, and many more. On top of that, they also have seasonal flavors. For this season they have Black Forest, Pear and Chestnut, and Chocolate Milk. When you decide you actually want one, there are a few different options as to how many you can get. You can get single macarons, or a box of 6, 8, 13, 18, 22, 24, and even more! The one down side to this little piece of heaven is that it is a little price-y so don't expect to be able to go buck wild without paying a fee. I wish I lived closer to the city so I could stop by every other week to fill my cravings!

Quote of the Week: "There's nothing you can do
to keep it out
there's nothing you can do
just scream and shout
saying
I'm so lucky, lucky
I'm so lucky, lucky"
