Halloween DIY part 3: Frank and Pump

Ok, Ok I know Halloween was a couple of days ago, but I can't help it! These guys are just too cute to not show you guys! For both of these little monsters the only thing you will need to buy is glue, but if you made the mummy (or have ever had to do any projects in your life) you prob already have that, so this should be free. Yes, I said free.

Anywhosers, go to your local Home Depot and visit the paint sample section. This has always been my fav section and I’m so glad I was able to find use for those awesome little pieces of colorful paper. You will need the following colors: green (the one with four shades), orange (also with four shades), two different small greens (one for a leaf, one for eyes), two white (for teeth and eyes), one gray, a few black (you’re going to need a lot for this), and one color of your choice for a back piece.

My inspiration from Pinterest (Photo Credit: Pinterest)
Let’s start with Frankenstein. I used a pencil to draw the ends of his hair on one of the black pieces, then I cut it out on my lines. I also drew 7 stitches, his eye brows, his pupils and top lip. I glued his hair to the side with the lightest shade of green, covering most of it. Then I took each “stitch” and glued them across the white piece separating the lightest two shades of green. Don’t try to be perfect with the stitches; they should be slanted and messy. Then taking the grey shade I cut two “bolts” and glued them just below the stitches (obviously they come off each side of his head).

Then I cut two white, two purple, and two black circles (the white being the biggest, purple medium, black smallest) and glued them on top of each other, then over the white line separating the two medium shades of green. Then glue his eye brows over his eyes (ya know, where they belong).

Right before the white separates the two darkest shades of green, cut the whole thing off. By whole thing I mean the darkest shade of green, including the white. Glue the lip over the edge, with the two teeth to one side. Using the random color, glue the darkest shade of green to it, then glue to the rest of Frankenstein. Make sure the piece with the lip isn’t glued down, it should be up to look like it’s open. Great job!

And my creations! Pretty good huh?
Now on to the pumpkin. He’s a lot easier and faster than Frankenstein. Start by cutting the multi-orange paint sampler into a triangle. Then trace and cut a leaf out of the darker green. Glue the leaf to the top of the triangle, where the orange is lightest. Cut two circles out of white, light green, and black (White being the biggest, green medium, and black smallest). Glue on top of one another to create eyes, then glue just under the second white line that separates the two medium shades of orange. Cut a half circle out of black and one small tooth out of white. Glue the tooth to one side of the half circle, and then glue the half circle where a mouth would belong. I put this guy’s mouth a little off to the side so it looks like he’s smiling a little bit. I also made his eyes a little crazy, so he def looks a little wacky.
