The Gossip Corner with Stini

Happy-almost-New Year everyone! I hope that Santa was good to you :) I know he was to me, although I am still waiting on the World Peace thing lol. Since this is the last post in 2011 I want us to enter 2012 on a high note. I want to start off by saying thank you to everyone who has been reading our blog and following us on facebook and twitter. We really hope that you are enjoying what we have to say and that maybe we have introduced you to some new and interesting things! If you have any suggestions on how we can make our blog better we would love to hear from you!

Now I know that last week was all about our Wish Lists for Christmas, this week I want to share with you my Celeb Wish List for 2012:
-Since there were quite a few engagements over the holidays I am hoping to see more celeb nuptials next year and less divorces
-Babies! I can't wait to see which star's will be next to pop out a little bambino. There's Jessica Simpson, Alyson Hannigan, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Lily Aldridge are among the many celebs who are expected to deliver in 2012.

-Lauren Conrad's L.A. Candy book series turns into a movie series would be major! I know that she's coming out with another book series but I would love for someone to put her stories on film, because it would be kinda like The Hills only much much better!

-Harry Potter beats out Twilight for an Academy Award or Golden Globe. Although I am a fan of both series, I have to say that the Potter movies far surpass the Twilight ones in almost every category. They have more action, better acting, better set and costume design, and amazing scripts that are closer to the books. I just think that they deserve to be recognized for the masterpiece that they created.
Some of the HP films (Google)
-And World Peace..... again. Hey my mom always said it can't hurt to ask!

What are some of your wishes for 2012?

Thirsty Thursday's With Vicki

Happy Holidays!!!

I always love the holiday season! Being able to spend quality time with close family and friends, celebrating just because you can, and eating tons of sugar cookies!!! But I mean who doesn't love the holidays?!

Two weekends ago, Jen Boo and I went to an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party in Cambridge, MA at our friend Joel's apartment. Jen and I met Joel about four years ago through a mutual friend. He went to Babson College which was about 10 minutes away from our school, and the girls and I would always visit him at Babson. They had some of the best parties like their SODA parties (Seniors Out Drinking Again), a pub on campus, and a Dunkies. Going to a small private college, we really didn't understand that it was actually normal to have any of these amenities on a campus.

Yeah! Check that out!

I was also supposed to go to another Ugly Sweater party at my best friend Courtney's house, but unfortunately we had to change the plan last minute. We instead celebrated with a few margaritas at Mama Iguanas in Springfield and dancing at Samuels, a bar conveniently located right near Mama's. We were supposed to wear our ugly sweaters...clearly none of us decided to go along with this!

Poncho: Ann Taylor
Skinny Jeans: J Brand via Caren & Co.
Riding Boots: Steve Madden via DSW
Purse: Guess

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FELLOW READERS & HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Wacky Wednesdays with Jenbiff!

Oldies But Goodies Christmas Edition Part 2!

Hello readers! I hope you had a fabulous Christmas! Was Santa good to you? I know that the first Wednesday of every month is when I post about old movies, but since I spent so much time this month watching Christmas movies, I really didn't have time to watch anything else! So today's post is about more Christmas movies! Last time I listed off my must sees of the season, so this time I will tell you more about a few of my favorites. But I did actually watch some new (well to me at least) Christmas movies..so let's begin!

Bing, Fred, Marjorie, and Virginia in Holiday Inn (Photo Credit: Google Images)

Holiday Inn (1942)
Starring: Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire, and Marjorie Reynolds
Jim Hardy (Bing Crosby) and Ted Hanover (Fred Astaire) are part of a sing and dance act in New York City with Lila Dixon (Virginia Dale). Hardy believes he has just done his last show and will be moving to Connecticut with Dixon where they will get married and live together on a farm. Little does he know that she has changed her mind and does not want to leave show business; and she's dating Hanover! While Hardy is in Connecticut, he comes up with the perfect plan to continue being in shows but only on the best days of the year...holidays. He hires a few new people to be part of his show and asks his old partners to be part of the fun too. Hanover tells him that they are going to get married but they would love to come watch some shows. Dixon ends up running off with another man (again) and Hanover, who is very upset about this, gets very drunk on New Years Eve and goes to visit his old partner. He dances with a woman who is part or Hardy's show, but can't remember anything the next day. He and his agent set out to find her, but Hardy is trying to keep her identity a secret, because she is his new girlfriend. Will Hanover find out who she is? Is Hardy's Inn a success?
*Runner Up this month!*

Stan and Ollie (Photo Credit: Google Images)

The March of the Wooden Soldiers (Babes in Toyland) (1934)
Starring: Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy
Ollie and Stanley work for the toymaker and are going to ask her for some money to help cover Mother Peep's mortgage on the shoe. If she can't pay for the mortgage the evil Barnaby will kick everyone out into the street. But he comes up with a plan that will allow them to let them live in the shoe, he will marry Little Bo Peep. Will Bo Peep have to marry Barnaby? Will Ollie and Stanley be able to get the money? This movie is really funny and a definite must see!
*Winner this month!*

Miss Piggy finally got her way and is married to Kermit! (Photo Credit: Google Images)

The Muppets Christmas Carol (1992)
Starring: Michael Caine, Kermit, Gonzo, the rest of the Muppet gang
This is the traditional Christmas Carol told and acted out by the Muppets. It is told in a more kid-friendly way...which was good because things that I couldn't figure out in the adult version were explained! And it was the Muppets! What more could you ask for?

George and Mary with one of their daughters (Photo Credit: Google Images)
It's a Wonderful Life (1946)
Starring: James Stewart and Donna Reed
George Bailey was born and raised in Bedford Falls. He always dreamed of traveling the world, but when his father passed away before he went off to college he decided to stay in order to keep the business open and out of Mr. Potter's hands. His younger brother went off to college and when he was supposed to come home and take over the business he had actually got married and took a job with his wife's father. When George got married to the love of his life, Mary, they were going to travel to a few different places for their honeymoon, but the stock market had crashed (it was 1929 after all) and again George had to stay in order to keep his father's business alive. He used all of the honeymoon money to keep the bank open, so Mary set up an ideal honeymoon in an old broken down house. Over the years she ended up fixing up the house. One Christmas Eve George's uncle, who worked with him went the bank to deposit their money, when he ended up losing it all. George realized that he would have to go to jail because of the debt and thought that everyone would be better off if he were dead. An angel, Clarence, who was sent to watch over him, jumped into the river George was about to jump into causing George to jump in to try and save him instead of killing himself. Once "saved" Clarence explains to George that he was sent to help him and then shows him life as if he were never born. George realizes what a wonderful life he had and wishes to be back. When he does get back, all of the people who care for him and who he helped out donated some money so he wouldn't have to go to jail.
*Because this is my favorite Christmas movie, it automatically wins favorite of the month, so I also choose as if this weren't part of the running*

Which new movies did you watch this month??

Quote of the Month: " Ollie: 'So far so good.'
Stannie: 'It wasn't so far. We just came across the street.'"
Last Weeks Answer: Will Ferrell as Elf

KM Explains it All!

I Hope 2012 Brings...

Every year right around this time, I like to think about different things I hope the new year will bring.  Whether it's something simple or something a bit more extreme, I just like the idea of setting some sort of goals for myself in hopes of fulfilling them.  It's a good way to get excited about the possibilities of things to come!  I accomplished quite a bit last year but this year I hope to...

...get a real job!
(photo taken from google)
Working part time is just not cutting it for this girl.  I'm ready for the real working world, now if I could just decide what I want to do...

...a trained puppy!
Stella has successfully accomplished sitting, kisses, shake, high five, and jump....just need her to get the more basic stuff like stay and lay down...getting her to stop biting would also be wonderful!

...travel!
(photo taken from google)
I'm not picky as to where I go, I just know I want to go somewhere new and do something different!

...have fun!
(photo taken from google)
Even though every day might not be the most exciting, there should always be some fun involved in your life.  One quote I like to keep in mind on a day to day basis is from the movie Say Anything:
Lloyd Dobler: Why can't you be in a good mood? How hard is it to decide to be in a good mood and be in a good mood once in a while?"
Constance: Gee, it's easy.

If I want to be in a good mood and have fun, then I'm going to!  The key is to put yourself in that mindset and you'll be golden.

Hopefully all the predictions about 2012 being the last year for us is untrue (seems like some people have too much free time on their hands if you ask me) just like all the other predictions that have been going on out there for who knows how long.  This year has so much going for it.  Fabulous new movies, new fashion, new music, new beginnings, and so on.  According to my Dad, the only reason that the Mayan calender ends in 2012 is because they ran out of room on the rock they were carving on...makes sense...

What do you hope the new year brings?  Let me know!

Outfit Outtakes by Jen Bou

The Perfect NYE Outfit (via Polyvore)

I love the idea of glitz and glamor for a night out, especially for a holiday like New Year’s Eve. All together, the outfit reminds me of modern Hollywood glamour. This dress has the perfect amount of sparkle and the lace tiered bottom is amazing! And  you can’t have an awesome dress without some awesome heels, right? While these shiny gold peep toes will most likely leave your feet screaming the whole night, it’s totally worth it for that killer heel and bow detailing. Finish off the look with a plush fur coat and sparkly accessories and you're ready for a night on the town!

The Gossip Corner with Stini

Can you believe that Christmas Eve is tomorrow!?!? It feels like this holiday season has flown bye at lightening speed, and pretty soon it will be 2012-scary thought since the world is supposed to end next year lol. Just like the other girls did, I have made my Ultimate Christmas Wish List for Santa, and I'm pretty sure that I will be on the "Nice" list. Some of the items on my list are WAY up there in fantasy land, unless some handsome millionaire sweeps me off my feet in less than 24 hours (the odds are against me) and some are within the realm of possibility.
Here we go....**Side Note: Jen Biff and I have similar tastes so our wish lists may be too :)**

1. The Birkin! I have been an admirer of Hermes's most covetable piece for awhile now and owning a Birkin bag is on my bucket list, even if that means selling everything I own lol. I would want either a Black or Burnt Orange leather bag like these:
Aren't they gorgeous! (Photo Credit Google Images)
2. Coach is a girl's other best friend. Because of my uncle, my family now says that I have an illness called "Coach-a-tosis" or the need to buy anything & everything from Coach. It is one of my fave handbag brands and I have found another bag that I would like to add to my collection, the Madison Leather Maggie Shoulder Bag in mahogany/brass.
 Like this one! (Google Images)
3. A J-O-B please! I know the economy is rough these days but it would be really nice to get up and go to work doing something I at least like/interests me. Don't get me wrong I am thankful to even have part-time work, but in 2012 I would really enjoy working full-time. Maybe Santa can sprinkle some magic fairy dust on the job market???
 (Google Images)
4. To win the Lottery! (preferably PowerBall or Mega Millions) Then I can travel to all of the places I've always wanted to visit, donate to some charities close to my heart, buy the Birkin bag,... trust me I have a well thought out plan if I ever come in to a large sum of money, just ask the girls :)
Money and lots of it! (Google Images)
5. A big chubby orange kitty to be named (what else), Garfield! While I would consider myself a dog-person, I do still have a special place in my heart for orange tabby cats. Also, Garfield was one of my favorite cartoons growing up. I'll probably have to wait until I move into my own place to get one or risk getting kicked-out by the rents!

Don't worry I won't feed him Lasagna! (Google Images)
6. Peace. Yeah I know it's corny but now that Bin Laden, Gadhafi, and Kim Jong il are all dead, it would be really nice if we could just chill on the fighting and just try and do some good things that will help our futures instead of destroying them.
 Working together (Google Images)
Well those are some items on my Christmas Wish List, what are yours?
Have a safe and Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!
